This guide covers the use of your Yealink CP960 conference phone.

The Touchscreen

The Yealink CP960 utilizes a touch screen as it’s the main display with two main screen options. The default Home Screen is where you will find your clock, applications and Shortcut keys that you will use for a number of phone features. You also have access to the DSS Key Screen by swiping right on the display. This screen displays the Line Keys on this phone. You can swipe back and forth between these two screens when not on a call.

Control Center and Notification Center

To access the Control Center, swipe down from the top of the display screen. Here you will find the Time and Date, Wireless Mic options, Brightness Display,  the Control Center, and the Notification Area.

Activating and Connecting Wi-Fi

The Yealink CP960 can be connected to the wireless network if Wi-Fi is available within the area. To activate the Wi-Fi mode:

  1. Select Settings.
  2. Tap Wi-Fi from the Basic Settings block.
  3. Proceed to turn on the Wi-Fi. The button will turn green and automatically search for an available network.
  4. Select the appropriate network and if needed, enter the password into the Password field.
  5. Tap Connect.

Connecting a Mobile Phone Using Bluetooth

The Yealink CP960 conference phone supports Bluetooth. Bluetooth enables low-bandwidth wireless connections within a range of 10 meters. You can pair and connect the Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone with your conference phone. After connection, you can do the following:

  1. Make and receive mobile calls on the conference phone.
  2. Use the conference phone as a Bluetooth speaker for music played on your mobile phone.
  3. Merge the calls on your IP phones, the PSTN and connected mobile phone into a hybrid UC conference.

There are multiple ways to enable Bluetooth, here is how you can do it using the Bluetooth key. To activate the Bluetooth mode:

  1. Tap the Bluetooth key and proceed to turn it on. It will automatically start scanning for available devices.
  2. When you see your device, tap the mobile phone number.
  3. Then select Pair.
  4. After successfully completing the connection, the prompt “Connected” appears under the name of the mobile phone. 

Note: Only one mobile phone can be connected at a time.

Placing Calls

To place a call:

  1. Tap Dial.
  2. Enter a valid 10-digit number.
  3. Tap Send.

You can also make a call from the Directory or History logs. To do so, tap Directly/History and then tap the desired entry to dial out.

Answering Calls

To answer a call, tap Answer.

Hold

To put an active call on hold:

  1. Tap More.
  2. Select Hold.

The call screen will display the call is on hold.

To resume the call:

  1. Tap More.
  2. Select Resume, or simply select Resume during a call.

Blind Transfer

A Blind (or unannounced) Transfer takes place when you transfer a call to someone else without announcing the call first.

To conduct a blind transfer while on an active call:

  1. Tap More.
  2. Select Transfer. This call will be placed on hold.
  3. Enter the destination you wish to transfer the call to.
  4. Tap Transfer.
  5. Tap Transfer one last time from the prompt box.

This completes the transfer.
Note: When performing a Blind Transfer, the caller ID of the transfer recipient will show the information of the contact to who you are transferring.

Semi-Attended Transfer

To conduct a semi-attended transfer while on an active call:

  1. Tap More.
  2. Select Transfer. This call will be placed on hold.
  3. Enter the destination you wish to transfer the call to.
  4. Tap Transfer.
  5. Tap Send from the prompt box.
  6. Tap Transfer when you hear the ring back tone.

This completes the transfer.

Attended Transfer

To conduct an attended transfer while on an active call:

  1. Tap More.
  2. Select Transfer. This call will be placed on hold.
  3. Enter the destination you wish to transfer the call to.
  4. Tap Transfer.
  5. Tap Send from the prompt box.
  6. Tap Transfer when the second party answers.

This completes the transfer.

Do No Disturb

The Do Not Disturb feature is used to send all incoming calls to voicemail. To initiate Do Not Disturb while in an idle state, meaning the phone is not in use:

  1. Swipe down from the top of the display screen.
  2. Press the DND key.
  3. Tap the DND key again to disable do not disturb.

To initiate Do Not Disturb while on a call:

  1. Press the DND key.
  2. Tap the DND key again to disable do not disturb.

Adjusting the Speaker and Ringer Volume

To change the speaker volume during an active call, tap the volume up or volume down buttons. To change the ringer volume when the phone is in the idle state, tap on the volume up or volume down buttons.

Muting an Active Call

To Mute a call while in an idle state, meaning the phone is not in use:

  1. Swipe down from the top of the display screen.
  2. Press the Mute key.
  3. Tap the Mute key again to take the call off of mute.

You can also press the Mute button while on an active call. There are two mute buttons opposite the main screen located towards the back of the conference phone. To mute an active call:

  1. Press the Mute button.
  2. To unmute the call, press the Mute button again. The call will resume.

Note: If you place a call on mute, other participants will not be able to hear you.

Directory

To add a contact to your directory on the Yealink CP960:

  1. Tap the Directory key.
  2. Tap the Add key.
  3. When the dialog pops up, proceed to enter a name and a valid 10-digit number in the corresponding fields.
  4. To accept these changes, tap on the Confirm (checkmark) key.

To edit a contact within your directory:

  1. Tap the Directory key.
  2. Find the contact you wish to edit and tap the Information key.
  3. Edit the necessary information and tap on the Confirm (checkmark) key.

To delete a contact within your directory:

  1. Tap the Directory key.
  2. Find the contact you wish to edit and tap the Information key.
  3. Tap Delete.
  4. To confirm your selection, tap OK on the Delete Selected Item prompt box.

Call History

To access your Call History:

  1. Tap the History.
  2. Proceed to tap the All Calls field.
  3. Select the appropriate list you wish to see from the drop-down menu, either All Calls, Missed Calls, Placed Calls, or Received Calls.
  4. Tap on the Information key. You now have the option to do one of the following:
  • View the Call Details.
  • To add the number as a contact, tap Add to Contact and enter the corresponding information within the prompt box.
  • To delete a call log, tap Delete and then confirm your selection by tapping OK.
